LeMieux Galleries is pleased to present two shows this Summer for artists Bernard Mattox and David Lambert. Opening Saturday June 6th from 5-8 PM during First Saturday Artwalk in the Arts District. LeMieux Galleries is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00AM to 5:00PM and by appointment.

A Brief History of Alters and Alleys Bernard Mattox’s third show at LeMieux Galleries combines the secular and the spiritual.

Celebrating 50 years of being a studio artist, the title is the same as his first solo exhibition after completing his MFA at the Newcomb Art School in 1984. Fast forward 42 years there is a continuum of similar themes and evolving imagery such as Mysticism, Archetypal symbols, Eroticism, Love of objects (plants, animals, furniture). His hope is to convey a rather playful innocence, a kind of grace to be still uncovering all this imagery. Simply described as Archaeology and excavation. Bernard Mattox works and resides in the woods of Folsom Louisiana.
