June 7-July 19, 2025
Reception with the artists: Saturday, June 7th from 5-8 PM
LeMieux Galleries is pleased to present So Real: A Group Show of Southern Painters of Realism. A reception with the artists will take place on June 7th, 2025, from 5-8PM. The exhibition will be on view through July 19th, 2025. LeMieux Galleries is open Monday-Saturday, 10AM-5PM. So Real demonstrates the beautiful diversity of representational painting from artists across the region. Specially curated by Christy Wood, the gallery director and co-
owner of LeMieux Galleries, the selection of this exhibition ranges from narrative and figural works to landscapes and still lifes. With 25 years of experience as a gallerist, Wood’s passion for Southern Realism is clearly conveyed through the exceptional talent of each artist presented. Together, the blend of studio work and plein air paintings sparks dialogue about the acclaimed history of realism in regional fine art. So Real celebrates the extraordinary skill found throughout the Southern United States and serves as a pertinent reminder of the importance of regional artistic communities.
So Real will feature the work by Benji Alexander Palus, Jonathan Hodge, Phil Sandusky, Mary Monk, Michael Deas, Benjamin Shamback, Shirley Rabe Masinter, Nicolina Morra, Diego Larguia and Julie Crews.
