Stella Jones Gallery is pleased to present two New Orleans artists in an exhibition focusing on the various achievements of people of color from slavery to contemporary times.


Epaul JULIEN is a self-taught photographer and painter who incorporates salvaged materials, ephemera and photographs into his mixed media works. JULIEN’s work can be found in many private collections and has been exhibited around the world. He is featured in Before During After: Louisiana Photographers Visual Reactions to Hurricane Katrina and Inventing Reality: New Orleans Visionary Photography.


Matthew ROSENBECK is a multimedia artist who recently completed a six month visual arts residency at the Joan Mitchell Center, New Orleans. This body of work is an exploration into popular culture utilizing stenciled images, printed materials as well as repurposed wood. Matthews’ work has been featured in Prospect 2 Invisible Man , Ashe Cultural Arts Center and New Orleans Black Futurist events.
