Press Release

Golden Meadows to Grand Islands will open with a reception on Saturday, March 7, from 6-9 p.m., with an encore reception on Saturday April 4 th . The show will remain on view until April 18, 2020. This new body of work is comprised of landscape paintings inspired from the Louisiana Gulf Coast. Aron Belka explores fragmenting and abstracting this simplified landscape. He’s modified his process with these new paintings looking at these works as an exercise to embrace change and new beginnings and ultimately accept loss.

Aron Belka holds a BFA in Illustration from Utah State University and has exhibited across the US with works featured in the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the Contemporary Arts Center, the Alexandria Museum of Art and the Jones-Carter Gallery in Lake City, SC as part of ArtFields. Belka won the grand prize at the 2015 Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series Finale during SCOPE Miami, awarding him a solo exhibit at SCOPE New York and the opportunity to collaborate on a mural in New City with actress/social activist Rosario Dawson. In 2018 he had solo exhibition of his work at the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art.
