NICOLA BERTELLOTTI

(b. 1976, Italy)

Nicola Bertellotti was born in Pietrasanta, Italy in 1976. From an early age, his love for travel led him to approach photography as a way through which to retain the memory of his experiences. Working professionally since 2013, what emerges in his work is a nostalgia for the lost paradise, a love for ruins, and the photographic representation of decadent poetics.

Nicola Bertellotti has exhibited in contemporary art galleries and museums throughout Italy and Europe, where his stunning work has garnered countless awards. In the summer of 2019, the Parnu Museum in Estonia honored him with a solo exhibition, The Great Beauty, Nicola’s homage to abandoned Italian opulence. His works are present in many prominent public and private collections, among them, the Parnu Museum, Estonia and Museo d’Arte Contemporanea LIMEN, Vito Valentia, Italy.

His work has appeared in prestigious publications, including, Esquire, Elle Decor, Arte, Lampoon, and the Daily Mail.

PARADISO PERDUTO : The Beauty of Imperfection. An exhibition featuring 16 captivating works by Nicola Bertellotti. On view February 2021.
