Press Release

LeMieux Galleries is pleased to announce the opening of exhibitions for two new artists this Fall: Leslie Nichols and Pippin Frisbie Calder. Both shows will open with a reception for the artists on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. in conjunction with Art for Arts’ Sake with an encore reception on Nov. 2nd. The shows will remain on view until November 16th. LeMieux Galleries is located at 332 Julia St and is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Leslie Nichols inaugural exhibition She Said uses text to create portraits of contemporary women with words. Her portraits visualize the historical context of women’s lives and suggest a social heritage by using words from pioneering writers, activists and feminists.

Pippin Frisbie Calder’s The Rookery is her introductory show with the gallery, featuring her hand-made prints and one of a kind shadow boxes. This show focuses on beauty of migratory birds who make the trek from North to South America and back each year.
