Press Release

Campbell Contemporary brings you two artists from Helsinki to the Seine.

Louise Charles-Saarikoski - Louise originally from the UK, works from her studio in Helsinki, Finland. She takes commissions for custom paintings, and her work can be found in homes around the world.

She paints in a realistic style, however since adopting a rescue dog from Spain, a Galgo Espanol, she realised she had more to say in her art and likes to experiment and create more abstract work these days to convey the story of the plight of these mistreated and abused animals. Her current rescue dog and muse is a black greyhound (galgo Ingles) also from Spain.

"A greyhound is tall, slender and elegant. Built for speed with a lean aerodynamic body and long powerful legs. A very deep chest and tucked up waist. Very beautiful to look at and a constant inspiration to paint, whether lying on the sofa or at a flat out sprint. I never tire of painting them."

Koffin Bryan Houessou - French artist, originally from Togo, is a young painter, endowed with innate talent, who emerges into the art world without ever having entered an art school. He is a self-taught prodigy who, from a very young age, demonstrated an exceptional ability to capture the beauty of the world and transpose it onto canvas with an instinctive mastery of forms, colors, and textures. What distinguishes him is this absolute creative freedom, unhindered by academic conventions. His works, vibrant and full of life, exude a raw authenticity that resonates with a rarely achieved emotional depth. Each brushstroke seems intuitively guided by an innate understanding of art, as if channeling a creative energy that escapes established dogmas.
