It inspires feelings and connections more than a specific definition, conjuring the fleeting pleasures of theater, poetry, and geisha culture on the one hand, and the Buddhist recognition that everything is temporary and impermanent on the other. These ideas are inherent to her approach to art. Each new work begins as a new set of possibilities and problems.
